Dinner With Friends Commission

It’s Your Table—Who’s In?

It started with a collector in Los Angeles.

New house. Big empty wall. Big vision.

He didn’t just want a painting. He wanted a damn monument.

We kicked around ideas and kept circling back to one thing: The Last Supper.

Iconic. Heavy. Timeless.

But instead of disciples?

It would be his five dream guests — anyone he wanted, dead or alive.

No rules. No limits.

Just the people he’d want to share a table with if the universe owed him a favor.

He picked:
🏈 Rod Woodson
🎬 Tom Cruise
🎤 Rob Halford
🎸 Alice Cooper
🏍️ Evel Knievel

(I mean… your list probably won’t look like that. And honestly? That’s the whole point.)

The Process? It's All About Collaboration.

We talked it through.

I mocked up a rough digital “sketch” — piecing together references, lighting, attitude.

He had thoughts.

I made tweaks.
(You want 1970s, blackout-drunk Alice Cooper? Not Grandpa Alice? Done.)

Every detail mattered.

No wine on the table — collector doesn’t drink.

No food either — looked weird without the wine.

So we swapped in objects that meant something: a Terrible Towel, a coiled whip, a live boa constrictor.

Each choice made it more his.

Not some generic "cool painting"

His story.

His heroes.

Then it got real.

Once the sketch was locked,
I took it into the studio and lit it up in oils.

I sent him progress shots. He lived the whole journey with me — every brushstroke closer to finished.

A few weeks later, a 34" x 70" oil painting rolled off the easel — packed, shipped, and delivered to his doorstep.

(And yeah, I can hook you up with pro hanging services if you want.)

Your turn.

Who’s sitting at your table?

Five chairs.

No rules. No limits. No wrong answers.

You pick the guests.

I’ll build the scene you’ll stare at for the rest of your life.
