She had fallen in love with my painting Mask No. 5 — a 30x40" oil on canvas — but there was a problem.
Actually, two problems.
First, her NYC apartment didn’t have a wall that could comfortably fit a piece that size.
Second, her style leaned much moodier than the original vibe. She needed darker tones, a richer feel, something that looked made for her space — not just dropped into it.
We solved it the way I like to solve everything: by talking it out and finding the right solution.

Together, we reimagined Mask No. 5 at a smaller custom size that fit her space perfectly.
We also added a black background to tie into the dark, dramatic style she had curated in her home.
Throughout the process, I sent her studio photos, updates, and progress shots.
No surprises. Total open communication from the studio.
By the time the painting arrived in Manhattan, it already felt like it had always belonged there.
