There's a BIG story behind this small print - this is the original sketch that kicked of a whopping 25 original works in my "Abstract Head" Series from 2023. The sketch was made circa 2010 while riding the subway to my studio in NYC. It was just a quick doodle reflecting how I was feeling that day. Fast forward to 2023 - I'd relocated to Los Angeles and was in my studio here looking for something unrelated in my sketchbook - and I came a cross this little drawing. It hit me hard - I'd been looking for a way to combine abstract with figurative portrait work - the rest is history.
